Study hint: Read chapter 26 in your textbook. Know the homologous structures presented in Table 26.1 on page 796. Remember, the videotape entitled "Meiosis: the Key to Genetic Diversity" is on reserve in the library.


Key Features of the Reproductive System

Parts in the Female: Ovaries, Fallopian Tubes, Uterus, Vagina, Vulva, Mammary Glands, Accessory Sex Glands
Parts in the Male: Scrotum, Testes, Epididymis, Spermatic Cord which includes the Vas Deferens, Ejaculatory Ducts, Urethra, and Accessory Sex Glands Major Tissue Type: Various depending upon organ
Characteristic Cell Types: Germ Cells, Ciliated Simple Columnar Epithelium, etc.
Functional Unit: None defined
Lecture 11 is divided into three major topics. Here is another system you have already had some experience with before you took this class. This lecture is short. It concentrates on explaining difficult concepts, or explaining material that is not discussed adequately in the textbook. As always, you are responsible for the information from both sources.
