The GED (General Education Development) Test

Approximately 500,000 people earn their GED diploma each year. More than 90% of colleges recognize the GED diploma as equivalent to a high school diploma, 5% of college freshmen are GED graduates. Many GED graduates achieve success in their lives as college professors, doctors, artists, and in many other careers.
GED students come form various educational and cultural backgrounds and are taking the test for different reasons. Some want to qualify for higher education, while others want to find a better job. Our classes give students the opportunity to review and study for these test so that they can reach their educational, personal, and career goals.

1.      What is the General Education Development Test (GED)?
The GED test offers adults the opportunity to earn a high school equivalency diploma. It consists of 5 tests in the areas of Language Arts Writing, Social Studies, Science, Language Arts Reading, and Math.

  2.     How can I get my GED diploma?
You need to enroll in a GED class. Once the instructor feels that you are ready to take the test you will take the exams at an official GED testing center.

3.     How long will it take for me to get my GED?
This depends on your skill level and individual pace of study. After you enroll and attend for a period of time, the instructor can give you an idea on how long it will take you to complete your GED.

4.     Can I take the GED class in Spanish?
Yes, we offer English and Spanish classes. Please call Centennial Education Center for locations to study for the Spanish GED exam.

5.     When and where can I take a GED class?
