Counseling
The Counseling Department assists students in meeting their educational and career life goals through orientation, academic advisement, assessment, career planning, testing, workshops, and individual and group counseling.
Orientation
Counselors provide one-on-one and group orientations in
regards to credit and non-credit services and programs.
Students who want to attend college and/or want information
about foreign transcript revalidation can make an appointment
in the counseling office. All new students are encouraged
to attend a counseling orientation to help clarify educational
and career objectives and be exposed to the California Educational
System.
Academic
Counseling
Counselors can assist students in seeking educational options,
develop an appropriate course of study, explore life-long
goals, and provide referrals to tutoring, Disabled Student Program Services and outside agencies.
Career
Planning
Counselors can assist students in exploring vocational and career options to develop the best course of action to reach
these goals.

Personal Counseling
Counselors are here to
assist you with problems, which may be impairing daily function
and learning. The emphasis is on short-term counseling focused
around problem areas or concerns. When appropriate, students
may be referred to other professional services in the community.
Assessments
The Counseling Department offers the TABE test for
students who are interested in entering the High School, GED, and Basic Skills programs.
Opportunities are also available for career and study skills
assessment as needed.
