The GEAR UP Santa Ana Scholarship Program is a coalition of college
scholarship underwriters who have joined together for the purpose of
encouraging students to pursue rigorous coursework at the beginning
of their secondary school careers
In coordination with the 21st Century Scholars Program, all GEAR UP
Santa Ana students will be provided with dedicated and general scholarship
support in their pursuit of a college education.
GEAR UP Scholarship Program is based on the belief that many talented
students are not motivated to pursue rigorous academic programs in intermediate
and high school because they do not believe that they will have the
opportunity to attend college.
The goal of this program is to help clear anticipated financial obstacles
by joining with the student and their family in becoming a college funding
partner.
All GEAR UP students are constantly reminded of the resources available
to help them achieve a college education if they are prepared academically.
Parents of all GEAR UP students have received information on preparing
academically and financially for college, with an emphasis on scholarship
and grant resources for their children.
Scholarship partners (K-12, Higher Education, community and business
organization, local foundations) have committed resources to support
GEAR UP students.
