Heartbreak Café is owned by Hanna Peach who received it as settlement from her divorce. This is all she got out of it. She has a soft spot in her heart for the young people trying to get into “the business” and is constantly hiring these hard-luck cases.

People come and go through the cafe, depending on their success or failure. Some stick around, hoping for that big break. Others find their success elsewhere. Some give up when they discover that Hollywood is more fantasy than reality. The lucky few actually see success.
