INFORMATION The Santa Ana College Theatre Arts Department is
dedicated to serving your academic and vocational needs. SAC is the
place for you... whether you are interested in performing on stage or screen,
directing, or stage managing. Perhaps your interests lie in creating stage
settings, lighting, sound, costumes, or makeup. No matter what your goals may
be the Theatre Arts Department is dedicated to making your educational quest a
rewarding, challenging, and memorable experience. We have a superb core
of professional actors, directors, and designers whose collective educational
objectives are to help YOU achieve your maximum potential. There are
over 35 courses in our curriculum, and our students can choose between two
Associate Degree options,either "Performance" or "Technical Theatre".
- As a Performance major, you will take course work in Acting (Fundamentals
through Advanced), Voice and Movement, specialty courses such as Musical Theatre,
Acting Shakespeare, Acting for TV and Film, Commercial Acting, and Scene Study,
as well as a limited core of classes in technical theatre.
- As a Technical
major, you will take course work in Stagecraft (all levels), Lighting and Sound
Design, Set Design, Costuming, Stage Makeup, Technical Theatre Production, and
a limited core of classes in performance technique.
The Theatre
Arts Department has 2 performance spaces in the Phillips Hall Theatre complex,
a 400 seat proscenium theatre, and a flexible black box theatre. Santa Ana
College offers you smaller classes, personal attention, counseling, and a complete
