Dons Open Conference Play with Win over Cerritos
CERRITOS, CA - Just four days after defeating Cerritos College in the South State Duals Finals, the Santa Ana College (SAC) wrestling team opened South Coast Conference play with a 33-6 win over Cerritos.
Jaime Martinez started the match with a 14-5 victory at 125-pounds followed by Jason Arreola who won 12-2 at 133-pounds. Steven Martinez won at 141-pounds by default followed by Bobby Scofield's 20-11 victory at 149-pounds.
RJ Pilkinginton turned in an 11-1 victory at 157-pounds before Ted Bristol blanked his opponent 13-0 at 165-pounds. Daniel Kennedy won the Dons seventh-straight weight class with an 11-1 victory at 174-pounds.
Cerritos picked up its first points in the 184-pound weight class before Jimmy Botheras picked up a late point to win at 197-pounds by a score of 2-0. The Falcons final three points came on a 4-3 decision in the heavyweight class.
