Dons Claim First Place in the Cerritos Invitational
CERRITOS, CA - The Santa Ana College (SAC) wrestling team finished in first place in the Cerritos Invitational held at Cerritos College behind three individual first place finishes. The Dons took the top spot with an overall score of 105 winning easily over second place Cerritos who had 95 points.
The three wrestlers that claimed first place in their respective weight classes were Sean Barbour (Dana Hills HS) at 165-lbs., Luis Onofre (Magnolia HS) at 174-lbs. and Chris Shannon (El Modena HS) at 285-lbs.
Nolan Johnson (Huntington Beach HS, 125-lbs.), Bobby Scofield (Dana Hills HS, 141-lbs.), Jose Navarro (Santa Ana HS, 149-lbs.) and Justin Gomez (Tustin HS, 184-lbs.) all finished in second place in their weight classes.
SAC's second team of wrestlers also had a strong finish as they came in fifth place overall with a score of 38 points. The second team's top finishers were Daniel Kennedy (Villa Park, 165-lbs.) and Tyler Garcia (285-lbs.) who finished second in their weight classes. |
