Santa Ana Defeats Mt. SAC 32-12 at Home
SANTA ANA, CA – The Santa Ana College (SAC) wrestling team defeated visiting Mt. San Antonio College (Mt. SAC) 32-12 in a South Coast Conference wrestling match.
Anthony Frank (Laguna Hills HS) gave the Dons a quick 3-0 lead with a 3-2 victory over Cecil Sebastian in the 125-pound weight class. Cesar Renteria (Edison HS) extended the SAC lead to 9-0 with a pin in the second period. He held a 4-3 lead before the pin.
Mt. SAC pulled within 9-6 after the Dons forfeited the 141-pound weight class. Joseph Solis tied the match at 9-9 for Mt. SAC with a 7-4 victory over Jason Cruickshank (Orange HS) in the 149-pound weight class.
Jose Serrato (Santa Ana HS) put the Dons back in front 13-9 with a 8-0 victory in the 157-pound weight class. Samuel Gaxiola pulled the Mounties within one at 13-12 with an 11-6 victory over Sean Barbour (Dana Hills HS) in the 165-pound weight class.
Dylan Sweet (Los Osos HS) extended the Dons lead to 17-12 with an 11-3 victory over Jonathan Andersen in the 174-pound weight class.Steven Sohanaki (Aliso Niguel HS) pinned Gregory Sill in the 184-pound weight class followed by a Mt. SAC forfeit in the 197-pound weight class put the Dons up 29-12.
Robert Elias (Anaheim HS) closed out the match for the Dons with a 6-4 victory over Randall Ray in the 282-pound weight class, giving SAC the 32-12 victory. |
