Santa Ana Rolls Over East Los Angeles, 34-8
SANTA ANA, CA - Top-ranked Santa Ana College had no trouble with visiting East Los Angeles College as the Dons rolled to a 34-8 win in South Coast Conference wrestling, Wednesday. The Dons (5-2, 2-1 SCC) received key performances from Jose Hernandez (125) and Mike O'Hara (149), who are ranked first in the state in their respective weight class.
Hernandez got the Dons off and running and improved to 18-1 overall with a 17-7 major decision over Chris Lopez at 125 while O'Hara made quick work of the Huskies' Hugo Arias at 149 pinning him in 2:04. O'Hara remained unbeaten and is now 16-0 this season.
Santa Ana also received a win from Brian Judd, ranked second in the state at 174, who moved up a weight class and defeated Migel Ruano, 10-3, and a 10-2 major decision from Rudy Justo over Paul Paez at 133. Justo is currently ranked third in the state
