Former Dons Earn NAIA All-America Honors

SIOUX CITY, IA - Former Santa Ana College grapplers and brothers, Alex (left, top) and Jimmy Becerra, both earned all-America honors and helped lead Lindenwood University (St. Charles, MO) to the 2005 National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Wrestling Championships Title that concluded on March 5 in Sioux City, Iowa.

Alex Becerra was named all-America following his fifth-place finish at heavyweight while brother, Jimmy, earned all-America honors after finishing seventh at 197.

Lindenwood University rolled up 178.5 points to easily outdistance second place Missouri Valley who finished with 128.5 points.

It was the Lions' second national title in four years having captured the NAIA Wrestling title in 2002.
