Miriam Mitzel begins her first year as the interim head coach of the Santa Ana College women's cross country team after five years as an assistant coach to Jeff Clingan in both cross country and track & field.
Prior to coaching at SAC, Mitzel was an assistant coach at Saddleback High School where she worked mainly with the distance runners.
Mitzel attended SAC from 1996-99 where she studied Spanish before transferring to California State University, Dominguez Hills where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Spanish. Following her degree in Spanish, Mitzel received her teaching credentials from California State University, Long Beach and is currently working on her Master's degree in physical education at Azusa Pacific University.
