Cadwell Leads Lady Dons To Fourth Place Finish
RIVERSIDE, CA - The Santa Ana College women's cross country team edged out Golden West College by three points, 120-123, to finish fourth at the Orange Empire Conference Preview Meet hosted by Riverside College on its Moreno Valley Campus, Friday.
The Lady Dons were led by freshman Samantha Cadwell who finished 12th with a time of 21:43.2. Claudia Mendoza finished 23rd (23:24.2) followed by Monica Ramirez (25th, 23:45.8), Lupe Garcia (30th, 24:05.8) and Lupe Gomez (42nd, 27:59.6).
Orange Coast College won the team title with 19 points followed by Riverside Community College, 59; Saddleback College, 97; Santa Ana College, 120; Golden West College, 123; Santiago Canyon College, 131; and Fullerton College, 194.
Next: On Friday, October 15, Santa Ana will travel to Walnut to compete in the 2004 Mt. San Antonio College Cross Country Invitational. The meet start time is scheduled for 9 a.m.
