Dons Finish 11th in Orange Coast Classic
COSTA MESA, CA - The Santa Ana College (SAC) women's cross country team finished in 11th place out of 18 teams with 291 points at the Orange Coast Classic held at Fairview Park.
Zobeida Lopez led the Dons for the third straight week as she finished in 32nd place (39th overall) with a time of 20:52, her best time of the young season. Lopez was followed by Karla Perez who finished in 54th place (70th overall) with a time of 22:10.
The third Don to cross the finish line was Brenda Moron who finished 57th (73rd overall) with a time of 22:24. Saira Perez came in 65th place (83rd overall) with a time of 22:42 and the final Dons runner to score was Araceli Valerio who finished with a time of 23:50 putting her in 83rd place (113th overall).
The other Dons to compete in the race were Yadira Damacio (96th, 25:46) and Yoselin Torres (100th, 26:08).
Orange Coast College took the overall team victory with a total score of 24 points. The Pirates had five of the top-10 runners including Kimone Hewitt who won the event with a time of 18:29.
