Santa Ana Finishes 13th at Mt. SAC Invitational
SANTA ANA, CA -The Santa Ana College (SAC) women's cross country team finished in 13th place with 358 points at the 2007 Mt. SAC Cross Country Invitational led by freshman Brittany Buenrostro (Santa Ana HS) who placed 53rd out of 127 competitors.
Buenrostro averaged 7:24 a mile as she crossed the finish line in a time of 22:11. Other finishers for the Dons included freshman Carmen Navarro-Truong in 98th place (25:15), freshman Eliana Chavez (Magnolia HS) in 105th place (25:35), freshman Carolina Solis (Montgomery HS) in 111th place (26:17) and Melvi Castaneda in 119th place (28:48).
Pima Community College from Tucson, Arizona took home team honors with 47 points, followed by Southwestern College (61) and Mt. SAC (79). Christin Cortez of Mt. SAC won the individual title with a time of 18:16.
The Dons will next compete in the Orange Empire Conference Cross Country Championships on Friday, Oct. 26 hosted by Fullerton College at Craig Park. |
