Santa Ana Competes in Howard Brubaker Invitational
SANTA ANA, CA -
The Santa Ana College (SAC) women's cross country team competed in the 2007 Brubaker Invitational SoCal Preview Meet held at Irvine Park . Attended by 28 colleges and 233 runners, the 5k-run represented the largest cross country meet in community college history.
Freshman Diana Zapata led the Dons as she finished in 35 th place with a time of 21:16:40 (33 points). Freshman Carmen Truong finished in 201 st place (27:30.90, 162 points), followed by Melvis Castaneda in 217 th place (30:35.80, 172 points), Estefani Flores in 218 th place (30:40.30, 173 points) and Roxanna Alegria in 233 rd place (40:28.70, 179 points).
SAC finished in 28 th place with a team total of 719 points. Crystal Reed of Orange Coast College won the individual title with a time of 18:07.80, while Glendale College took home first place team honors with 40 points.
he Dons return to action on Friday, Oct. 12 to compete in the Mt. SAC Invitational in Walnut, CA. Race time is set to begin at 11 a.m. |
