SANTA ANA, CA - The Santa Ana College (SAC) women's volleyball team lost to Orange Coast College (OCC) in three straight games in an Orange Empire Conference match by the scores of 30-17, 30-20 and 30-25.
The Dons dropped the first game by a score of 30-17 despite holding the lead several times early in the game. The teams traded the lead back and forth up to a 14-14 tie before OCC scored 10 straight points to take control of the game.
The second game started the same as the first with neither team taking control. OCC held a 10-8 lead before starting to pull away to a 17-9 lead. After the Pirates extended their lead to 25-13, the Dons battled back outscoring OCC 7-2 to cut the lead to 27-20. Unfortunately, OCC scored three straight points to take the second game 30-20.
SAC dominated the start of game three scoring the first seven points and eventually jumped out to a 20-13 lead. However, OCC scored 10 of the next 13 points to tie the game at 23-23 before pulling away to win the game 30-25.
