SANTA ANA, CA - The Santa Ana College (SAC) women's volleyball team lost to visiting Riverside College in three straight games in an Orange Empire Conference match. The loss drops the Dons 3-9 overall and 1-8 in conference play.
Riverside (14-8, 5-4) dominated the first two games as they took a 2-0 lead by the scores of 25-10 and 25-8. The Dons battled early in the third game as the two teams traded the lead up to a 14-14 tie.
The Dons took a 17-14 lead before the Tigers scored seven straight to take a commanding 21-17 lead before taking the game, and the match, by a score of 25-20.
Andrea Gallardo and Teuila Palm led the Dons with five kills each. Gallardo added 11 digs followed by Venny Van with nine digs.
