SANTA ANA, CA - The Santa Ana College (SAC) women's volleyball team picked up its second win of the season defeating L.A. Trade Tech (LATT) in three straight games 30-15, 30-20 and 31-29. The win improves the Dons' record to 2-2 on the season.
The Dons took an early lead in the first game and didn't look back. After jumping out to a 6-2 lead SAC held leads as large as 17 points at 29-12 before winning the game 30-15.
The Beavers took the early lead in the second game at 4-1 but the Dons were able to battle back and tie the game at 9-9 and took the lead for good at 10-9. The Beavers made a late charge to cut the Dons' lead from 22-14 to 23-19 however SAC outscored LATT 6-1 to win the game 30-20.
The Dons fell behind again in the third game before tying the game at 12-12. The Beavers then scored the next six points to take an 18-12 lead forcing the Dons to come from behind. SAC eventually tied the game at 20-20. The teams continued to battle back and forth all the way to a 29-29 tie before the Dons scored the final two points to win the match, and the game, 31-29.
