Santa Ana Puts up Fight against Fullerton College

SANTA ANA, CA - Despite losing all three games, Santa Ana College (SAC) continued to improve tonight against Fullerton College in an Orange Empire Conference volleyball match. Fullerton defeated the Dons in three games 30-19, 31-29 and 30-17. Tonight's game was a continuation of the competitive play that SAC has shown, narrowly losing to Irvine Valley on Wednesday.

The first game was tight through the beginning all the way to an 11-11 tie. The Hornets then outscored SAC 13-3 to take a 24-14 lead. They went on to win the game but the Dons held strong only getting outscored 6-5 to end the game. The second game started off just like the first game all the way to a 12-12 tie. SAC pulled away momentarily and jumped out to a 21-15 lead. The Hornets battled back and tied the game at 25-25. The teams traded points until Fullerton scored two straight to win the game 31-29.

SAC held strong in the beginning of the third game with the score reaching an 11-10 Fullerton lead. Fullerton pulled away at this point and sealed the victory with a 30-17 win the final game. Diana Quezada (Santa Ana HS) had 26 assists for the Dons while Mabel Tanielu (Santa Ana Valley HS) had 20 digs and Brigina Brock (Katella HS) had 11 kills in the loss.
