Santa Ana Has Good Showing Against Orange Coast

SANTA ANA, CA - Despite losing in three straight games, the Santa Ana College (SAC) women's volleyball team put up a fight against visiting Orange Coast College (OCC) Friday night in an Orange Empire Conference match.

The Dons fought hard in the first game and held a 9-6 lead over OCC until the Pirates went on a 16-point rally and took a commanding lead at 22-9 and went on to defeat SAC 30-10.

In the second game, the Dons struggled early but were able to generate some offense late as they were done 21-8 and fought back going nearly point for point until OCC won the game at 30-15.

The third game had another early strong performance by the Dons who, after falling behind 5-0, rallied to cut the deficit to 10-7. Although OCC went on to win the game 30-15, the Dons did not allow a substantial run by the Pirates.
