Santa Ana Loses Eighth in a Row

SANTA ANA, CA - After an exciting first game that ended in Riverside College 's favor, 36-34, Santa Ana College 's (SAC) women's volleyball team was unable to get close to Riverside as they fell in three straight games.

The Dons had a 26-23 lead late in the first game before Riverside rallied to tie the game at 27-27. The teams traded points to 30-30 and SAC was unable to take lead after this point. Despite tying the game four times up to 34-34, the Dons were unable to come back again losing the game 36-34. In the second game the Dons scored five straight points to take a 10-5 lead over the Tigers. However, Riverside came charging back and scored nine straight points to take a 14-10 lead.

SAC was able to cut the lead later to 14-16 but it wasn't enough as Riverside ran away with a 30-18 victory. The third game was all Riverside as they sealed the match with a 30-10 win. The Dons were lead by Denise Nogal (Katella HS) who had 5 kills followed by Tiffany Wickens (Katella HS) and Brigina Brock (Katella HS) who had 4 kills each. Diana Quezada (Santa Ana HS) had 16 digs in the loss.
