SAC's Fryslie Commits To Mercer University

SANTA ANA, CA - On Friday (March 25), Santa Ana College's Korina Fryslie (Trabuco Hills HS) gave a verbal committed to Mercer University (Macon, Georgia) to play both volleyball and softball for the Bears next season.

Fryslie was a second team all-Orange Empire Conference setter for Santa Ana a year ago. The former Trabuco Hills High School-product led the Dons with 202 assists in 66 games. She finished second on the team with 175 digs and recorded 44 kills. Fryslie finished the season with six aces and two blocked shots.

Last Spring (2004), Fryslie helped lead the Santa Ana softball team to the second round of the Southern California Regional playoffs before the Dons were eliminated by Palomar College, 2-1, in nine innings. She started all 38 games at shortstop and led the team with a .384 batting average. She was 28 for 73 at the plate and drove in 14 RBI. Frylie, who scored 16 runs, was was also second on the team in stolen bases stealing nine of the 10 she attempted.
