Ligon and 4x400 Relay Team Headed to State
SANTA ANA, CA - Santa Ana College (SAC) will send four athletes to the State Championships in women's track and field this Saturday (May 20).
Whitney Ligon finished first in the SoCal Finals in the triple jump with a distance of 38' 4 3/4" to qualify for the finals at Bakersfield College. The 4x400 team will also compete at Bakersfield after they finished third with a time of 4:04.1. The 4x400 team consists of Sasha Gardner, Allison Taylor, Patrice Fernandes and Ligon with CeCelle Warren as an alternate.
Other notable athletes at the SoCal included Sasha Gardner and Cassandra Power who finished seventh and ninth in the hammer throw and Patrice Fernandez who finished eighth in the 400H.
