Sandy Gonzalez Gives Strong Performance in Loss

SANTA ANA, CA - The Santa Ana College (SAC) women's track and field team lost to Orange Coast College 129-18 in an Orange Empire Conference meet Friday afternoon at the SAC Track despite a strong individual performance from sophomore Sandy Gonzalez.

Gonzalez took first in the high jump with a jump of 5'0”, and later added first place finishes in the long jump (15'7”) and triple jump (32'4”). Gonzalez earned 15 points for her three first-place marks.

Lilian Avila (14.34), Belen Cervantes (11:37.01) and Eliana Chavez (1:40.75) placed third in the 100 meter, 3000 meter and 400 meter hurdle events respectively to round out the scoring for SAC.
