Dons Place Fifth At Ed Adams Invitational
SALINAS, CA - Santa Ana College rolled up 58 points to finish fifth at the Ed Adams Invitational held at Hartnell College on Saturday. The Dons placed fifth behind meet-champion Fresno City College (163.0), Modesto Junior College (86.0), American River College (78.0) and Hartnell College (61.5).
Sophomore Elle Cruikshank led the Dons with her runner-up finish in the 400 hurdles. Cruikshank, who ran 1:07.25, was second only to Sequoias College's Taletha Calhoun who won the event in 1:04.85. Cruikshank added a fifth-place finish in the long jump with a leap of 15' 10-1/4".
Cassandra Power racked up points in three events of her own including a third-place finish in the hammer throw (117' 0"). She also scored points with her sixth-place showing in the shot put (33' 7") and seventh-place finish in the javelin (90' 3").
Others scoring point for the Dons included Ciesha Primous with her fourth-place finish in the triple jump (33' 5-1/4") and Allison Taylor who finished eighth in both the 200 (27.06) and long jump (15' 6-1/4").
Two relays scored points as the 4x100 finished second behind Modesto in 50.85 and the 4x400 who came in third with a time of 4:30.82.
