Dons Have Strong Showing In Bakersfield
BAKERSFIELD, CA - Santa Ana College led by Elle Cruikshank's runner-up finish in the 400 hurdles and Cassandra Power's third-place finish in the hammer throw put on a strong showing at the Bakersfield Invitational as the Dons had eight top-10 finishes in the two-day meet.
Cruikshank, who finished second to Sequoias College's Taletha Calhoun in the 400 (1:07.24), also a pair of fourth-place finishes in the 100 hurdles (16.18) and long jump (16' 3").
Meanwhile, Power captured the bronze in the hammer throw with a toss of 126' 11". She added an eighth-place finish in the javelin (92' 1").
Others finishing in the top 10 included Adriana Rodriguez in the 400 hurdles (1:24.76), Veronica Gonzalez in the javelin (82' 9") and the 4x100 team.
