Four Student-Athletes to Transfer to Four-Year Universities in Swimming and Water Polo

SANTA ANA, CA - Four student-athletes from the Santa Ana College (SAC) aquatics program will be continuing their academic and athletic careers at four-year universities. The four student-athletes are Alex Farraro (Northwood HS), Kaylen Hewko (Rosary HS), Bianca Kibby (Valencia HS) and Jenna Natalizio (Irvine HS).

Farraro is transferring to Concordia University where she will compete in both swimming and water polo while Hewko received a full scholarship to continue her swimming career at Azusa Pacific University.

Kibby will play water polo for the University of California , Santa Barbara while Natalizio is going to San Diego State University to compete in swimming and water polo.

All four student-athletes were major contributors in the Dons' fifth place finish at the 2008 State Women's Swimming Championships held at Saddleback College in May.

Head coach John Wright said that the four transfers were huge for the SAC aquatics program.

"This is our first group [since I have been here] that has come to Santa Ana College to do what I think Community College and Community College athletics are about," Wright said. "They put themselves into a better situation than was available to them out of high school. In both areas, athletics and academics, they are able to move onto the school of their choice based on their improvement over the past two years."
