SANTA ANA, CA - The Santa Ana College (SAC) women's soccer team extended its winning streak to three games following its 3-1 victory over visiting Irvine Valley College in an Orange Empire Conference match.
The teams battled through a scoreless tie most of the first half before Reyna Fonseca's long shot arced over the Lasers goalkeeper in the 34th minute putting the Dons (9-3-0, 5-3-0) up 1-0.
Three minutes later, Salina Ortiz buried a free kick in the back of the net from just outside of the box following a Lasers foul. Ortiz' goal put the Dons up 2-0 heading into the half.
Ortiz scored again in the 54th minute, again on a free kick following a Lasers foul. Monica Ramirez scored the Lasers (3-8-1, 1-5-1) lone goal of the game in the 86th minute.
