SANTA ANA, CA - The Santa Ana College (SAC) women's soccer team defeated visiting Saddleback College 2-1 in an Orange Empire Conference match. The win improves the Dons to 6-1-0 overall and 2-1-0 in conference play while Saddleback falls to 1-6-1 overall and 0-3-0 in conference.
Yoana Leon scored her third goal of the season in the 64th minute on a cross from Courtney Crain to put the Dons up 1-0. Exactly two minutes later, Amanda Chavez fired a long range shot that curled above the Gauchos keeper and into the back of the net.
Saddleback scored late on a Brittany Flores goal to cut the lead to 2-1 but the Dons trio of goalkeepers kept them scoreless otherwise to secure the 2-1 victory.
Cortnee Kleidon made three saves in 23 minutes as she got the start before Mitzy Montalban came in to make three saves while allowing one goal in 59 minutes. Karla Mandujano held down the fort in the final eight minutes making a save on the only shot she faced.
