SANTA ANA, CA - The Santa Ana College (SAC) women's soccer team lost for the first time this season following its 3-2 loss to Riverside College at home in an Orange Empire Conference match.
The Dons (5-1-0, 1-1-0) fell behind 2-0 early in the second half before Amanda Chavez took a pass from Aeidi Montiel in the 56th minute and beat the Tigers keeper.
Alyssa Popov scored her second goal of the game for Riverside (4-1-1, 1-1-0) to extend the Tigers lead to 3-1 in 75th minute. Yoana Leon gathered a rebound late in the game and buried a shot in the back of the net to pull the Dons within 3-2.
The Tigers held on to the one-goal lead for the final few minutes notching their first OEC win of the season. Cortnee Kleidon suffered her first loss of the season as she surrendered three goals while making six saves.
