SANTA ANA, CA – The Santa Ana College (SAC) women's soccer team defeated Riverside College 3-0 to improve to 2-1-1 in Orange Empire Conference play and 3-5-1 overall. The loss drops Riverside to 1-6-1 overall with a 1-2-1 mark in conference.
Daisy Ramos (Loara HS) scored all three goals for the Dons, all in the second half. Her first goal came less then five minutes into the second half when she was able to get behind the Riverside defenders on a pass from Yuri Marin (Los Amigos HS). Ramos then beat the goalkeeper to put the Dons up 1-0.
Ramos' second goal came five minutes later on an assist from Nancy Garcia (Foothill HS). Her final goal came in the 83rd minute on a penalty kick.
Alexiz Villanueva (Katella HS) made one save in 15 minutes of action at goalkeeper. Ely Ureno (Chaparral HS) made two saves in 73 minutes before Marcela Lopez (Santa Ana HS) finished the game for SAC at goalkeeper.
