SANTA ANA, CA – The Santa Ana College (SAC) women's soccer team came from behind to tie visiting Cypress College 1-1 in an Orange Empire Conference soccer match. The Dons are now 1-5-1 on the season and 0-1-1 in OEC play while Cypress is 5-0-3 overall and 2-0-1 in conference.
Cypress scored first in the 31 st minute as Natalie Farah sent a shot passed SAC keeper Ely Ureno (Chaparral HS) on the short side of the goal. The Chargers scored the goal after an attempted pass hit a Charger player in the face. The ball came down in front of the goal and Farah was in position to take the shot.
The Dons tied the game late in the second half when Lily Lopez (Santa Ana HS) passed the ball to Daisy Ramos (Loara HS). Ramos then sent a high shot over the Cypress keeper and in to the back of the net to tie the game at 1-1. The goal came in the 73 rd minute.
Ureno started the game for the Dons allowing one goal in the first half while making five saves. Alexiz Villanueva (Katella HS) made six saves in the second half for the Dons. Cassandra Imbrogno played the entire game for the Chargers, allowing the goal on the only shot she faced.
