SANTA ANA , CA – Santa Ana College 's (SAC) women's soccer team broke through into the win column with a victory over visiting Rio Hondo College (RHC). The Dons shut out the Road Runners to improve to 1-2 on the season while RHC fell to 0-4.
Nancy Garcia (Foothill HS) scored both goals for the Dons and Daisy Ramos (Loara HS) picked up both assists. Garcia's first goal came in the 28 th minute after Michelle Frain (Garden Grove HS) sent a pass into the corner to Ramos who centered it to Garcia. Garcia quickly fired the ball on goal and put SAC up 1-0.
The two connected again when Ramos broke free from the defense and sent a pass over to Garcia who again found the back of the net.
Alexiz Villanueva (Katella HS) played a complete game while picking up her first win and first shut out of the season. She turned away all five shots that the Road Runners sent her direction.
