Santa Ana Topples Saddleback 3-0

SANTA ANA , CA – With the season coming to an end and playoffs in reach, Santa Ana College (SAC) defeated visiting Saddleback College 3-0 in an Orange Empire Conference women's soccer game. The win keeps the Dons, who are currently 12 th in Southern California, within the 16 teams that can make it to the postseason.

Esther Aceves (Century HS) opened the scoring for SAC in the 30 th minute on a goal set up by Dulce Sixtos (Esperanza HS) and Grace Cardona (Katella HS). Sixtos sent a long pass across the field to Cardona who touch passed it to Aceves. Aceves sent a high arcing shot over the keeper's head for the goal.

Cardona picked up the next goal for the Dons as she was the last SAC player to touch the ball before Saddleback scored on their own goal. The final goal of the game was set up by Nadine Allouche (Laguna Hills HS) who passed the ball in front of Maribel Munoz who was able to catch up with the ball and send another high arcing shot over the keeper's head.

Alexiz Villanueva (Katella HS) and Alice Reyes (Orange HS) combined for the shut out. Villanueva played the majority of the game and only having to make one save while Reyes made two in 15 minutes.
