SANTA ANA, CA - The Santa Ana College (SAC) women’s golf team finished in third place with a team score of 351 in an Orange Empire Conference (OEC) match held at the par-70 Riverview Golf Course.
Freshman Victoria Vallejos (Edupro) had the low score on the afternoon for the Dons as she finished with a 12-over-par round of 82. Vallejos finished tied for fourth place individually. Sophomore Sam Shade (Canyon HS) shot an 85 for SAC, followed by sophomores Adriana Murillo (Western HS) and Christi Whittemore (Lakewood HS) who each finished with a 92.
Other scores for SAC included sophomore Linda Shade (Swartz Creek HS) at 96 and sophomore Evelyn Kielich (Orange Lutheran HS) with a 98. In OEC competion, the top-four individual cards per team are used to calculate the final team score. The Dons also finished with three eagles on the day, the most ever in a conference match.
Irvine Valley College took first place with a team score of 333, followed by Santiago Canyon College with a 337. Saddleback College finished in fourth place at 375 and Fullerton College took fifth at 532.
