SANTA ANA, CA - All three members of Santa Ana College's women's golf team qualfied for the Orange Empire Conference (OEC) finals led by sophomore Jill Mahany. Mahany finished third with a stroke average of 85.9 to claim all-conference honors for the second straight season.

The Lady Dons finished seventh in the OEC with a 1-11 overall record.

Joining Mahany in the OEC Finals are Vicky Macias and Lei Bailey-Leahy.

By placing in the top 10, Mahany also qualifies for the Southern California Regionals that will be held on Sunday, November 7 and Monday, November 8 at the Sandpiper Golf Club in Santa Barbara.

It's the second year that Mahany has qualified for the Southern California Regional tournament.

SANTA ANA, CA - Santa Ana College's Jill Mahany fired an eight-over par 80 at the Riverview Golf Course (Santa Ana, CA) to claim top medalist honors in the Lady Dons' Orange Empire Conference (OEC) women's golf match with Fullerton College, Golden West College and Santiago Canyon College, Wednesday.

Fullerton 's Vivian Garcia, who shot an 84, was four strokes back while Golden West's April Jackson and Santiago Canyon 's Jacquie Templin tied for third with rounds of 85.

Despite Mahany's best round of the year the Lady Dons dropped both of its team matches with Santiago Canyon (349) and Golden West (377). There was no decision between Santa Ana and Fullerton as neither team fielded a full compliment of players.

Vicky Macias and Lei Bailey-Leahy shot rounds of 97 and 100, respectively, for host Santa Ana.

Next: Santa Ana will face Saddleback College on Monday, September 27 in a golf match to be held at Tijeras Creek Country Club. The match is scheduled to begin at noon.

 

SANTA ANA, CA - Santa Ana College 's Jill Mahany fired an 86 to finish third and earn medalist honors in Monday's Orange Empire Conference women's golf match against visiting Irvine Valley College , Orange Coast and Saddleback College , but it wasn't enough as the Lady Dons dropped all three of its matches. Santa Ana , who was playing with just three players, was unable to post a team score in their home match played at Riverview Golf Course

Saddleback's Camille Guyton claimed top medalist honors with her six-over par 78 and led the Gauchos toa win over Santa Ana . Kirsten Medlin helped Irvine Valley pick up a win as she picked up medalist honors with her round of 83. Orange Coast 's Lorraine Fernando and Kim Ensey each rounds of 89 to tie for team-high honors and help the Pirates down the Lady Dons.

Irvine Valley finished with a team total of 356 followed by Saddleback, 369, Orange Coast , 402, and Santa Ana , no score.

Next: Santa Ana will face Saddleback College on Monday, September 27 in a golf match to be held at Tijeras Creek Country Club. The match is scheduled to begin at noon.
