SANTA ANA, CA - The Santa Ana College (SAC) women's golf team finished with a team score of 360 in its Orange Empire Conference (OEC) home opener Wednesday afternoon at the par-70 Riverview Golf Course in Santa Ana. The Dons picked up a win over Saddleback College (368), while dropping matches to Santiago Canyon (324) and Irvine Valley (348).
Freshman Alicia Badosa (Katella HS) finished with an 87 to lead SAC. Freshman Sam Shade (Canyon HS) shot an 88, followed by freshman Christi Whittemore with a 92 and freshman Adriana Murillo (Western H.S.) with a 93. Other scores for the Dons included freshman Becky Flores (Western HS) at 103 and freshman Linda Shade (Swartz Creek HS) at 106. Only the top four cards from each team are used to calculate the final score. Courtney Solomonson of Santiago Canyon finished with a 73 to take home medalist honors.
The Dons (1-2 OEC) return to action on Monday, Sept. 24 at the par-72 Tijeras Creek Golf Club in Rancho Santa Margarita. Play is set to begin at 10:30 a.m. |
