Head Coach
1st year

On Monday (May 24) Santa Ana College (SAC) named former University of California, Riverside (UCR) assistant Flo Luppani as its new full-time women's basketball coach. Luppani's hiring became official following a vote by the Rancho Santiago Community College District Board of Trustees at their meeting yesterday.

Before coming to Santa Ana College, Luppani spent four seasons on the UCR women's basketball staff where she was responsible for off-campus recruiting, scouting, player skills development, academic compliance and the summer basketball camp program. Prior to working at UCR she served as an assistant coach and graduate assistant at Humboldt State University (HSU) during the 1997-98 and 1998-99 seasons.

Luppani, who was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, graduated from Woodbridge High School (Irvine, CA) in 1993 and attended Orange Coast College (OCC) from 1993-95 where she played basketball for head coach Mike Thorton before concluding her playing career at Chapman University (Orange, CA). While at OCC she served as a team captain and led the Pirates to a 43-26 record while setting school records for three-pointers and assists and garnering Orange Empire Conference (OEC) honors. To date, Luppani still holds several OCC records including assists in a game (15), season (228) and career (454).

At Chapman, she served as a team captain and helped guide the Panthers to a 32-18 record and a berth in the NCAA Division III basketball playoffs her senior season. Luppani also set school records for three-pointers made in a season and earned Division III District VIII GTE/Verizon Academic All-American honors in her final season.

Luppani received her bachelor's degree in psychology from Chapman in 1997 and earned her master's degree in kinesiology from Humboldt State in 1999.
