Fullerton Hands Santa Ana Second Straight Loss

SANTA ANA , CA - Fullerton College (15-6, 6-1) remained a top the Orange Empire Conference women's basketball standings with a 64-32 win over Santa Ana College (5-11, 1-6), Wednesday. It was the Dons' second straight loss having fallen to Cypress College last Friday.

Becky Hogue scored a game-high 20 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead the Hornets. Sarah Hoffman also recorded a double-double with 12 points and game-high 16 rebounds.

The Hornets scored the games first six points and never looked back to remain in first place. Santa Ana drew to within 10-6 with 15:43 left in the first half, but an 11-minute scoring drought doomed the Dons who trailed 32-12 at halftime.

Sol Pacecho came off the bench to score a team-high 11 points for Santa Ana . She also led the team with seven rebounds. Ahkiah Hunter and Luz Gonzales each finished with eight points in the loss

Next: Santa Ana will host Riverside College to begin the second round of conference action on Friday, January 28 at 5:30 p.m.
