Santa Ana Runs Away From Cerro Coso, 70-36
SANTA ANA, CA - Ahkiah Hunter and Luz Gonzalez each scored 14 points as Santa Ana College snapped a two-game losing streak with a 70-36 win over visiting Cerro Coso (6-8). Sonia Ruiz and Kelly Chavez added 13 and 10 points, respectively, as the Dons improved to 4-7 overall. Tasheena Nelson had a team-high 10 for visiting Cerro Coso.

Santa Ana shot a season-high 52 percent (31-of-59) from the field including 61 percent (19-of-31) in the second half. The Dons near perfect at the free throw line as well connecting on 5-of-6 charity attempts.
The Dons, who scored the game's first 11 points and held the Lady Coyotes scoreless until the 13:53 mark of the first half, forced 32 turnovers. Cerro Coso shot just 30 percent from the floor (14-of-46). In the second half the Lady Coyotes made must 23 percent of their shots (5-of-22) in scoring just 17 points.
Sol Pacheco had a team-high six rebounds as Santa Ana outboarded the Lady Coyotes, 33-31. Chavez, led the Dons with a game-high five assists to go along with her 10 points.
