Chavez Scores 24 In Santa Ana's 74-46 Win
SAN JACINTO, CA - Santa Ana College sophomore guard Kelly Chavez scored 24 points and handed out four assists as the Dons won their second consecutive game, a 74-46 decision over Mt. San Jacinto College, to improve to 2-5 overall. Chavez made 9 of 19 field goals including 4 of 8 three-point attempts in leading the Dons to the easy win.
Ahhiah Hunter added nine points followed by Luz Gonzalez and Melissa Alvez who each finished with eight points apiece.
The Dons controlled the glass outrebounding Mt. San Jacinto, 45-32.
Next: Santa Ana round out the 2004 portion of its basketball schedule when it hosts Cuyamaca College on Monday, December 20 at 7 p.m. in Cook Gymnasium.
