Santa Ana Drops Season Opener, 68-44

WOODLAND HILLS, CA - Forward Luz Gonzalez (Century HS) scored 12 points in her freshman debut but it wasn't enough as Santa Ana College L. Gonzalezdropped its season opener, 68-44, to Los Angeles Pierce College in non-conference women's basketball action, Wednesday. It was also the coaching debut for Flo Luppani who was hired as the Lady Dons head coach back on May 24, 2004.

Gonzalez made 6 of 12 field goals to lead Santa Ana. She also had five rebounds to go with the team-high 12 points. Constance Brinson (Tustin HS) finished with nine point and a team-high seven rebounds for the Lady Dons while Ahkiah Hunter (Ocean View HS) added seven.

Cold shooting and first game jitters allowed the host Brahmas to build a 24-point halftime lead in recording their first win of the season.
