SANTA ANA, CA - The Santa Ana College (SAC) women's basketball team defeated visiting Bakersfield College 91-41 in the Dons' final non-conference basketball game.
Jamie Glover (Villa Park HS) opened the game with a three-point basket and the Dons held the lead for the remainder of the game. Bakersfield stayed close through most of the first half before SAC pulled away at the end of the half for a score of 43-28.
The Dons' defense was too much for Bakersfield to overcome in the second half as the Renegades managed only 13 points on 7 per cent shooting. SAC outscored Bakersfield 48-13 in the second half to earn the lopsided victory.
Heather Couzens (Pacifica HS) led all scorers with 24 points and eight rebounds followed by 14 points from Cassie Rico (Century HS). Glover was the third Don in double-digits with 11 points.
