SANTA ANA, CA - The game was moved to a day earlier than scheduled but that didn't faze the Santa Ana College women's basketball team from achieving what they set out to do. The Dons took on the challenge from the visiting Corsairs from Santa Monica College and ran away with a 93-70 victory.
Sophomore guard Amanda Scott (Garden Grove HS) led the Dons with 24 points (9-of-14) with 6-of-11 from three-point range. She was followed by Heather Couzens (Pacifica HS) who had 15 points and nine rebounds. Keisha Henry (Fountain Valley HS) also scored 15 for the Dons in the victory shooting almost 50%. She also led the team with 14 rebounds.
The Dons had a 20-point lead going into halftime and never looked back. The team shot 41% for the game going 24% from behind the three-point line. The only place the Dons struggled was from the free-throw line making only 10 out of 21 attempts.
