Pasadena City College swept the second
round of singles en route to beating Santa Ana College,
13-8, in women’s badminton on Wednesday at Santa
Ana. The Lady Dons led 7-5 at the intermission but
the Lancers proved too strong down the stretch.

H.S.) led the way for Santa Ana—splitting their
singles matches and teaming up to win twice in doubles.
Doan and Nguyen defeated Pasadena’s #1 singles
team of Carmen Smith and Annie Tang, 6-11, 11-6, 11-5
to win the most heated doubles match of the day after
making quick work of Cindy Ton and Elaine Liang, 11-6,
11-3 in the first round.
Pasadena improves to 10-3 overall
and 8-1 in South Coast Conference (SCC) play with the
win. Santa Ana falls to 5-8 overall and 3-6 in SCC
play with the loss.
Santa Ana women’s badminton
will play again on Friday at Compton College at 3:00
