Dons Lose to Saddleback 8-0 in Five Innings
SANTA ANA, CA -The Santa Ana College (SAC) softball team lost to visiting Saddleback College 8-0 in five innings in an Orange Empire Conference game. The loss drops the Dons to 5-8-1 overall and 1-5 in conference while Saddleback improves to 7-4 overall and 4-3 in conference.
The Gauchos scored five runs in the first inning on four hits while being aided by one error for the early 5-0 lead. After being held scoreless in the second and third innings, the Gauchos added two more runs in the fourth before scoring the game-winning run in the fifth.
Alicia Remigio suffered the loss to fall to 1-5 on the season. She gave up eight runs, four earned, on seven hits. The Dons defense committed four errors in the loss.
Shannon Halverson and Nicole Mendoza were the only batters to get a hit as the Dons weren't able to go through the batting order twice.
