Breanna Dravis Hits Walk-Off Single in 2-1 Victory

SANTA ANA , CA - The Santa Ana College (SAC) softball team came from behind to defeat visiting Saddleback College 2-1 in an Orange Empire Conference game. The Dons (21-17, 8-9) scored their two runs in the final two innings to pick up their first win of the season over Saddleback (28-11, 9-8).

SAC fell behind 1-0 in the fifth inning when Saddleback scored on a groundout to third base with the bases loaded. The Dons came back to tie the game in the sixth inning at 1-1 when Jenny Kulp (El Modena HS) singled to left field and later scored on a single by Loren Harrell (Tustin HS).

The Gauchos threatened to break the tie in the top of the seventh inning when they loaded the bases on two hits and a walk. Harrell pitched her way out of the inning as she forced two batters to fly-out to left field.

Natalie DeLeese (El Toro HS) led the seventh inning off with a triple to right field. She was followed by Breanna Dravis (Villa Park HS) who hit a single to right field that scored DeLeese for the game-winning run.

Harrell improved to 9-5 on the season as she allowed only six hits while pitching a complete game. She allowed one run and had one strikeout.
