Santa Ana Loses to Santiago Canyon on Neutral Field
IRVINE, CA – Santa Ana College (SAC) lost to Santiago Canyon College (SCC) 3-1 in an Orange Empire Conference (OEC) game Friday afternoon at Colonol Bill Barber Park in Irvine.
The Dons took an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning when lead-off hitter Stacin Halverson (Western HS) reached base on a throwing error and later scored on a double to right-center field by Jenny Kulp (El Modena HS).
SCC tied the game in the third inning on a single up the middle of the infield and later took a 2-1 lead on a solo home run in the fourth inning. The Hawks added a third run in the fifth inning on another single up the middle of the infield.
SAC was unable to answer and went on to lose 3-1. The loss drops the Dons to 11-10 overall and 3-5 in conference play while SCC improves to 20-6 overall and 5-3.
