Santa Ana Runs to 7th Place Finish at Fresno Invite
SANTA ANA, CA - The Santa Ana College (SAC) men's cross country team finished in a tie for seventh place out of 30 teams with a score of 208 at the Fresno Invitational held at Woodward Park in Fresno, CA.
Sophomore Jersain Torres (Katella HS) led the Dons with an impressive fifth place finish out of 268 competitors in a time of 20:49. SAC freshman Edgar Aguilar (Santa Ana HS) finished in 20th place with a time of 21:37, followed by sophomore Corey Brown (Loara HS) in 48th place with a time of 22:02.
Other finishers for the Dons included Irvin Malacara in 69th place (22:24), sophomore Billy Mitchell (Tustin HS) in 76th place (22:27), sophomore Sam Juliano (Tustin HS) in 99th place (22:54), sophomore Ruben Gonzalez (Santiago HS) in 117th place (23:10), freshman Joe Perez (Valencia HS) in 131st place (23:22), Noe Aguirre in 150th place (23:41), freshman Luis Orozco (Santa Ana HS) in 180th place (24:17), freshman Martin Tellez (Tustin HS) in 203rd place (24:43), sophomore Rino Ponce (Santiago HS) in 214th place (25:16) and freshman Juan Mejia (Anaheim HS) in 224th place (25:30).
College of the Canyons took home the team title with 88 points, followed by Mt. San Antonio College (90 points) and American River College (97 points). The SAC men's cross country team returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 29 at the Stanford Invitational in Palo Alto, CA . The men's race is set to begin at 4 p.m. |
